Why Amy Coney Barrett should be confirmed to SCOTUS

First of all, though she lives a personal life according to her Catholic faith, her judicial opinions are based on the US Constitution as written. In other words, she follows originalist principles and does not legislate from the Bench. In order to preserve the US Constitution - the most beautiful and perfect set of human laws ever written - this is very important. Too many judges throughout the years have legislated from the bench, thereby eroding the meaning and effect of the Constitution. And what good is the Constitution if it is not followed by a judge or justice? It becomes an antiquated piece of paper. Therefore it is essential that a judge or justice follows the Constitution as written.

Secondly, looking at her life, she literally has accomplished everything: a successful career, while being a mother of 7. The slogan “be all that you can be” would appropriately describe her life. Many women have been indoctrinated to think that they have to choose between career or family. ACB has proven them wrong in every way. All women should support her confirmation because of everything she has accomplished. In other words, she is an example of empowerment of women, an example that a woman can have if all: career and family.

Thirdly, she is an excellent choice, viewed through the political lens: a conservative Republican President, with a Republican majority in the Senate, nominating and confirming a conservative woman as justice to the SCOTUS. Politically speaking, the Dems can not attack her like they attacked the last two nominees of the President. So politically, this was a brilliant move by the President, leaving the Dems with little of no ammunition in opposition. And, considering time is short, if is of the essence.

Conclusion: excellent choice, in every aspect, whereby even some liberal scholars have praised her for her brilliant legal mind.... she is an excellent choice, from a judicial, social, and political standpoint, and should be confirmed accordingly.
